My poor hometown is under water. This is a picture of how downtown Cedar Rapids usually looks. That's Mays Island in the center of the Cedar River. Cedar Rapids is really a beautiful city. Very clean and well taken care of. Another view of Mays Island...
This is today!!! It's so sad to see. Please pray for the people who have lost their homes. Everyone in my family is fine. Their homes are not flooded at all. Thank God. They have said on the news it could take years for the city to recover. It's heartbreaking.
Scotty found a new "helper" and he had his best day ever.
Can you believe this?
After he was done he hugged me and then went right over to hug her?!?! In the car, after we left I was saying to him how nice it was for that new teacher to help him. He said, "He no teacher, he my lifeguard friend."
Scotty is doing so much better at swimming lessons. He still cried a little today but then he jumped off the diving board.
Wait, I said jump but I actually mean they dropped him and he swam to the side. He really did it! The teachers had to jump in to help about 75% of the kids but Junie made it to the side all by himself.
I'm really proud of him. He cried and said, "That really scare me."
If you are wondering about the blue speedos, I am sick of buying disposable swim diapers.
This is a first!! This morning I gave Amelia some Cherrios and milk for breakfast. Junie saw them and said he wanted them too. He really ate the whole bowl. (it was little) It took him about an hour but I don't think I would have minded if it took all day.
Scotty started swimming lessons at Pecos. He's in level 1 so he's all by himself without me. He did really well at first them he saw me and got a little sad...
Can you see him in this one?
Here it is zoomed in. Sad. He cried for the last 20 minutes.
My heart was breaking but I left him with his teacher for the entire time.
Later that night he said, "Dat Lady adunka my head, dat mean. He scare me."
