Family Day

We decided that for our family day we would take the train downtown and find some fun. The kids were all bundled and ready for a snowy day. Here they are in the train station waiting patiently.
Train's coming.
On the train Sissy reading Junie their new book.
They love it! Thanks, Friends!
When the train arrived downtown we started walking towards the Macy's windows. We stumbled upon this. A free ride on a kid train around some pretty trees. SWEET!
Sissy and June rang the bell the entire time.
Are they little or what?
We spotted a huge green Sprite van handing out FREE soft drinks. SWEET! I heard someone say they thought my kids we drinking Heineken's. Cheers!
We danced to a live music.
Enjoyed the beautiful windows. FREE.
'Hey Macker, You having fun?'
Next we went to the 5th floor of Macy's (formerly Marshall Fields) After a 45+ minute wait...
We got to see Santa.!!!
They asked if we'd like to buy at 5X7 for $19.95. Em...no thanks! I'll just take a bunch with my digital camera.
More walking and fun in the rain/sleet/snow.
Amelia's head is blocking or you'd see baby Jesus at the Christkindlmarket Chicago.
Finally after all the fun it was time for the train ride home. Scott was not that excited about wrestling Macker for an hour.
I let the teenagers play with my camera. Sissy.
June.
When the train got really full and we all scrunched together. A lady near us thought it was so cute and she offered to take a picture. (She wasn't thinking we were quite as cute by the end of the ride when Mac had stunk up the entire train car and screamed his face off.)
'Get us out of here!'
Teeth.
No teeth.
Teeth.
Holding Macker down.
Strange face.
The end.

Is Santa praying with Amelia?

I think giving your kids a Heineken or two is totally appropriate.

So, are you saying giving kids Heineken is a bad idea?

The train ride brings back memories of riding the 1.5 hour train from New Haven to NYC. I'm pretty sure Levi would do awful on something like that!

Sounds like a super fun day!

What a fun day...and refreshing to hear that your kids are not perfect ALL of the time!
