Day 8

I painted the upstairs bathroom and the kids rooms and they need a second coat tomorrow. I patched holes.
The kids were happy because I stopped at Goodwill and got 5 ninety-nine cent VHS movies. Flubber, Aladdin and American Tale. Tomorrow Toy Story 2 in English and one other one I can't remember. Macker slept quite a bit today, he's sick. He has a cold that's now in his eyes so the doctor gave me drops for him.
I actually found something that made him feel pretty great! Yes, he's Ghetto Baby again.
That's right, it's a chocolate Joe-Joe. He was so happy.
The wood floor is looking really good. I'm hoping they will start to stain it tomorrow.
I think he'll look good with a goatee when he's a grown-up.

2 inches too big.
Wood floors going in. Not stained yet.
Wall patched.
PERFECT!!!
I'm painting the kids rooms.
More painting tomorrow. I really miss Scott.

Day 6?

Today the carpets were cleaned in the bedrooms. They really needed it!! A locksmith came and changed the locks. The floors are totally gone and this afternoon the wood will begin. I can't paint today because the carpet is wet in the upstairs so we are doing little projects around here. Last night Scott and I were sitting on the couch with the doors open so we could hear the rain and all of the sudden we saw a familiar face. MY DAD!! He drove over to surprise us! We were all screaming. The kids got up and so at 10:00 last night Scott and the kids took Papa over to see the new house! Junie in his Christmas jammer pants.
Today my dad and Junie spent the day doing things on my to-do list. YEAH!! Thanks for coming to visit, Dad!
I'm having Javier take a look at the mantle to see if he can work his magic!! Does Macker look a little like Billy Idol!?
Scott's in Atlanta till Friday! Miss him!

Day 5

I found this ad on Criagslist for a mantle and surround. PERFECT!!
The person was asking $65.00 but I got it for $30.00
I drove over an hour and a half and when I got there it just barely fit in the car. I was so happy.
Hour and a half later I arrived at the new house and Scott met me there to unload it. (it's super heavy)
I made a special trip to the new house this morning to make sure that the dimensions fit our house. Her post said the widest part was 70 and 1/4 inch so that was perfect. It left about 1 1/2 inch on either side.

SHE WAS WRONG!!!!!!! It's about 76 inches if you include the sides of the mantle which are actually the widest part!
Can you tell that Scott is NOT happy. I'm not either. I want to cry a little...
On a happier note, the floors are pretty much gone.
Wood has arrived.

Day 4

Here's my new BFF Javier. He finished up the floor boards and he'll be back tomorrow morning to finish the plumbing.

It was freezing and raining this morning and Mac was really cold. I turned on the fireplace and he got toasty and warm.

Time to paint the laundry room. Good-bye peach!

Scott arrived after church. (we skipped)

Time for the doors.

Love them!

Kids were outside having fun.

The worship pastor lives in our neighborhood and he and his wife and 3 kids stopped over to see us. They took all 3 of our kids to the park for about an hour. It was the best surprise! I was able to finish the laundry room.

Done.

Mac was sleeping when they dropped him off. Nice Halloween jammers. Ghetto baby!

Since we were just about done I thought it would be a good idea to do a little yard work.

Junie was Mr. Stick Guy.

Some neighbors came over to say hello and as they were leaving I took a picture. Not that normal. They have a 8 and 10 year old and seem nice.

Scott decided it would be a good idea to get IN the dumpster to smash everything down. We need to make room for all the flooring to be thrown out!!!!!!!

Love our kitchen cabinets.

Goodbye carpet!!!
